Most patients achieve critical view of safety in surgery

In a review of 309 laparoscopic cholecystectomies, researchers found that an adequate critical view of safety (CVS) was achieved in 79.9% of cases, significantly reducing surgical complications. Notably, factors such as acute cholecystitis, male sex, and previous surgeries correlated with challenges in attaining CVS. Despite these factors, no surgical complications were reported in the successful CVS group, underscoring its effectiveness as a preventive strategy against iatrogenic lesions in gallbladder surgeries.
