A randomized controlled trial at Hasan Sadikin Hospital demonstrated that vitamin D supplementation significantly improved the quality of life for stage II-III colorectal cancer patients undergoing adjuvant chemotherapy. With a daily intake of 10,000 IU, participants’ serum vitamin D levels rose sharply, contrasting with declines in the placebo group. Quality of life assessments revealed substantial improvements at the third and sixth months post-chemotherapy, highlighting the beneficial effects of vitamin D on patient outcomes.
