Long-term outcomes for screen-detected right-sided colon cancer patients significantly outperformed those of symptomatic cases. In a cohort of 909 patients, screen-detected individuals exhibited higher rates of early-stage lesions, achieving 98% R0 resection compared to lower rates in elective (93.3%) and emergency cases (79.4%). After five years, survival rates were 85.4% for screen-detected patients compared to 75.4% and 53.1% for elective and emergency cases, respectively. Recurrence rates also favored the screen-detected group at 8%.
