Two predictive models for HCC recurrence developed successfully

A study identified a 70.9% postoperative recurrence rate for type iii-iv in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with macroscopic vascular invasion. Key independent risk factors included young age, large tumor size (≥10 cm), and high Ki67 index. Two nomograms—pre- and postoperative—demonstrated strong prediction capabilities with ROC curve areas of 0.827 and 0.891, respectively. Both models effectively categorized patients into distinct prognosis subgroups, offering valuable insights for treatment strategies in clinical settings.
