EUS-guided biliary drainage techniques show high success rates

In a study of 191 endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS)-guided biliary drainage procedures, researchers achieved a technical success rate of 97.38% and a clinical success rate of 89.01%. Among the 191 patients, 16.75% experienced complications, including six fatal cases. These advanced techniques offer effective alternatives to traditional methods like ERCP for treating benign and malignant biliary strictures, thereby enhancing the quality of life for patients with unresectable biliopancreatic cancer.
