A comprehensive analysis of 75 studies involving 13,010 patients reveals that goal-directed haemodynamic therapy (GDHT) significantly lowers the incidence of surgical site infections (SSI) from 13.3% in conventional fluid therapy to 9.4%, marking an absolute risk reduction of 3.9%. With high-certainty evidence, GDHT demonstrates a relative risk of SSI at 0.71, leading to a strong recommendation for its implementation in surgical settings. The need for further studies is unlikely to alter these results.
