Cold snare polypectomy shows superior safety for small polyps

A comparison of polypectomy techniques reveals that cold snare polypectomy (CSP) offers a significantly safer alternative to hot snare polypectomy (HSP) for polyps under 10 mm. While both methods have similar efficacy, CSP reduces risks of adverse events like bleeding and perforation. With most colorectal polyps being less than this size, adopting CSP could notably decrease complications and prove advantageous, especially for patients who require careful management of anticoagulant therapy.
