In a retrospective study with 563 adult patients, the BIG score proved to be an independent predictor of in-hospital mortality in trauma cases, significantly outperforming the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), Revised Trauma Score (RTS), and Injury Severity Score (ISS). With a cutoff value of 10.65, it achieved 67.7% sensitivity and 86.5% specificity, predicting mortality risks effectively, with estimates of 50% and 80% for scores of 15 and 20, respectively.
