Analysis of 368,502 groin hernia surgeries in Sweden from 1992 to 2021 reveals a significant decrease in reoperation rates for recurrence, particularly among females. Advances in surgical techniques from traditional suture repairs to modern laparo-endoscopic methods have contributed to these improved outcomes. The findings demonstrate a shift in operative practices and highlight the effectiveness of laparo-endoscopic surgery in reducing recurrence rates, especially for female patients.
