EUS-directed approach resolves jaundice in patients with obstructions

A novel EUS-guided technique utilizing lumen-apposing metal stents effectively treated patients with concomitant gastric outlet and biliary obstructions. In a study involving nine severely ill individuals, complete resolution of jaundice was achieved in all cases, attributed to successful transduodenal ERCP via gastroduodenal stenting. Post-procedure evaluations showed significant improvements in gastric outlet obstruction scores across all patients, indicating the method’s potential for future interventions in poor surgical candidates.
