A systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated minimally invasive associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) compared to open methods. Findings revealed a significant reduction in 90-day mortality (risk ratio = 0.48) and overall length of hospital stay (mean difference = -8 days) for minimally invasive procedures. Efficacy remained comparable regarding liver remnant growth and negative margin resections, with 92% achieving them through minimally invasive ALPPS versus 86% with open ALPPS.
