ASAP Score Predicts Recurrence in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Patients

The ASAP score, evaluated in a cohort of 1,239 patients undergoing hepatic resection for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), revealed significant prognostic value. A cutoff of 4.8 classified patients into high and low-risk groups, showing that those with higher scores faced significantly greater 5-year recurrence rates (73.9% vs. 51.0%). The study establishes the ASAP score’s role in predicting postoperative outcomes, emphasizing its potential to enhance management and surveillance strategies for HCC patients.
