Ergonomic training improves surgeons’ well-being and career longevity

Significant improvements in pain, physical workload, depression, and quality of life were observed in surgeons after completing ergonomic training and posture exercises. Following a one-month intervention, participants demonstrated enhanced awareness of ergonomic practices, leading to reduced musculoskeletal disorders. The study highlights the critical need for surgical professionals to adopt proper posture and endurance training to mitigate fatigue and discomfort linked to ergonomic challenges in the operating room.
