A prospective study involving 140 patients with pilonidal sinus disease revealed that the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) significantly shortened wound healing time compared to standard dressing. On average, PRP patients healed in 23.6 days, while the control group took 41.1 days (p < 0.001). Additionally, PRP demonstrated a wound healing rate increase, high patient comfort, and low recurrence rates under 1%, suggesting its potential as a first-choice treatment prior to extensive surgical interventions.
