Patient satisfaction with implantable venous access ports is confirmed

Satisfaction with long-term totally implantable venous access ports (TIVAPs) was assessed in 149 cancer patients, showing non-inferiority to existing literature in overall satisfaction, willingness to choose the port again, cosmetic results, and pain experience. Complications were minimal, with 91.4% of catheter accesses complication-free. While satisfaction levels were adequate, no superiority in cosmetic outcomes was found compared to previous studies, indicating a reliable option for patients needing chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition.
