Intraoperative blood loss (IBL) ratios were found to predict local recurrence after curative resection in stage I-III colorectal cancer patients. Higher IBL ratios correlated with a greater risk of early local recurrence within two years post-surgery. Multivariate analysis indicated that factors such as anastomotic leakage and tumor characteristics, including rectal cancer and poorly differentiated histology, were significant predictors. Clinicians may improve prognosis by reducing IBL and addressing complications like anastomotic leakage.
