Transanal total mesorectal excision (TaTME) demonstrated superior clinical outcomes in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer following neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT). A study involving 91 patients revealed TaTME resulted in lower operative time, blood loss, transfusion needs, morbidity, and shorter hospital stays compared to open and laparoscopic surgeries. Additionally, three-year relapse-free survival and local recurrence-free survival rates were significantly better for the TaTME group at 94.7% and 100%, respectively, highlighting its effectiveness in improving patient outcomes.
