A multidisciplinary framework successfully identified 85 genes linked to panoptosis in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) patients. Researchers developed a panoptosis risk score (panrs) model with five critical hub genes, demonstrating high efficacy in prognosis prediction across diverse cohorts. The study also highlighted macrophage roles in the tumor microenvironment and established a link between postn overexpression and resistance to immunotherapy. These insights promise to refine diagnostic strategies and therapeutic approaches for ICC, optimizing patient outcomes.
