Cholecystectomy for patients with gallbladder hyperkinesia led to notable improvements, with 85% experiencing complete symptom resolution and 94% reporting partial improvement. A study involving 67 patients showed that those achieving complete resolution had a higher gallbladder ejection fraction (94%) compared to those without symptom resolution (88%). Most participants had abdominal pain, with additional symptoms like nausea and chronic diarrhea noted. The findings suggest that cholecystectomy may be beneficial beyond the traditionally accepted indications of gallbladder hypokinesia.
