An analysis of nearly 79,000 pancreaticoduodenectomy reports from 2014 to 2020 revealed a significant reduction in adjusted odds ratios for surgical mortality—from 0.906 to 0.647. Participation in a nationwide clinical database and surgeon certification system correlated with improved outcomes, including a notable decrease in grade C pancreatic fistula incidence. Board-certified surgeons consistently outperformed their non-certified counterparts, highlighting the benefits of specialized training in hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery.
