Liver resection offers survival benefits over interventional treatments

A multicenter study with 5,774 hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with hypohepatia revealed that liver resection (LR) provides significant survival advantages compared to ablation and transarterial chemoembolization (TACE). The findings showed that LR led to lower risks of death and disease progression across various subgroups, making it a superior option for selected intermediate to advanced patients. In particular, LR demonstrated better overall survival and disease-free survival rates, highlighting its efficacy over alternative treatment methods.
