CALLY Index effectively predicts intestinal ischemia in hernias

The study demonstrates that the CALLY Index and modified Glasgow Prognostic Score (MGPS) serve as significant predictors for intestinal ischemia in patients with strangulated abdominal wall hernias. Among 125 patients analyzed, a CALLY score below 2.5 was independently associated with higher ischemia risk. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis revealed strong predictive power for this cutoff, indicating its potential role in enhancing early detection and guiding timely surgical intervention, crucial for improving patient outcomes.
