Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration and biopsy (EUS-FNA/B) was found effective in diagnosing rectal and perirectal lesions in 79.2% of cases. Of 77 patients studied, EUS-FNA/B provided conclusive diagnoses, enabling timely treatment decisions—confirming malignancies in 32 patients and preventing unnecessary procedures in 14. A definitive diagnosis of a gastrointestinal stromal tumor facilitated neoadjuvant chemotherapy and subsequent surgery. Despite some adverse events, EUS-FNA/B demonstrated a strong safety profile and clinical utility for this patient group.
