Female patients demonstrated significantly better surgical outcomes following pancreatectomy compared to males, with 62.3% of women achieving ideal outcomes versus 54.1% of men. Women faced fewer complications, lower reoperation rates, and reduced 30-day mortality. The likelihood of achieving optimal results was notably higher for women and those undergoing distal pancreatectomy versus pancreatoduodenectomy. These findings suggest that sex-based differences warrant further exploration to understand underlying biological mechanisms impacting surgical outcomes.
