Improved Quality of Life and Nutritional Outcomes with Stomach-Preserving Surgery for Early Gastric Cancer

The study analyzed long-term quality of life and nutritional outcomes in patients who underwent stomach-preserving surgery versus standard gastrectomy for early gastric cancer. Findings showed better quality of life scores, higher body mass index, and improved hemoglobin, albumin, and protein levels in the stomach-preserving group postoperatively. Stomach-preserving surgery after sentinel node evaluation demonstrated superior outcomes, aiding in treatment decision-making for early-stage gastric cancer patients.
