Nomograms improve survival prediction in gastric cancer patients

Incorporating a systemic oxidative stress score (soss) based on fibrinogen, albumin, and cholesterol significantly enhances prognostic accuracy for gastric cancer patients post-radical gastrectomy. Among 3,820 patients, nomograms utilizing soss outperformed traditional staging methods in predicting overall and disease-free survival (AUC: 0.830 vs. 0.778, AUC: 0.824 vs. 0.775). Moreover, high-risk groups demonstrated significantly increased recurrence rates, indicating the potential for tailored interventions and surveillance strategies to improve patient outcomes.
