No Significant Benefit of Goal-Directed Albumin in High-Risk Surgeries

In this randomized clinical trial, researchers investigated whether goal-directed albumin substitution could reduce postoperative complications in high-risk surgery patients. They found that maintaining a serum albumin concentration >30 g/l perioperatively did not significantly reduce the incidence of postoperative complications compared to standard care.
