This study presents the implementation of surgical activity regulation methodology in operating rooms to mitigate organizational dysfunction, enhance surgical staff’s quality of work life, and reduce overtime. Utilizing a scrub nurse as a real-time regulator akin to an air traffic controller, decisions are made collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesiologists, optimizing scheduling, including emergency surgeries. Live footage from OR cameras enables centralized monitoring, eliminating physical visits, improving efficiency, and enhancing air quality.
