Minor impact of anastomotic leakage on long-term male urinary and sexual function

Anastomotic leakage after anterior resection for rectal cancer has a minor negative impact on male urinary function, leading to increased urinary incontinence rates. However, it does not significantly affect sexual function or increase risks of urinary frequency, permanent urinary catheter use, or sexual inactivity in the long term.
