Robotic Esophagectomy vs. Conventional Thoracoscopic Esophagectomy for Locally Advanced Esophageal Cancer

Robotic esophagectomy results in shorter postoperative recovery times and lower rates of specific complications compared to conventional thoracoscopic esophagectomy for locally advanced esophageal cancer. Both approaches have similar technical feasibility and oncological outcomes following surgery, with no significant differences in recurrence rates. Robotic esophagectomy may offer patients a faster recovery with comparable long-term results, indicating its potential as a viable alternative in the treatment of advanced esophageal cancer.
