Effect of Surgical Treatment on Patients with Peritoneal Metastasis from Gastric Adenocarcinoma

Survival analysis of 399 patients with peritoneal metastasis from gastric adenocarcinoma revealed that surgical treatment significantly improves overall survival. Subgroup analysis suggests benefits for patients with certain tumor characteristics and previous chemotherapy. Surgery may be an option to enhance prognosis in specific groups of patients with gastric adenocarcinoma and peritoneal metastasis.
