Open surgery with a lateral neck approach proved to be a safe and effective treatment for foreign body impaction penetrating the neck through the esophagus. Tenderness in the pre-cervical site was a useful screening sign, and timely surgical intervention, along with appropriate post-operative care, led to successful outcomes in all 15 cases analyzed. The therapeutic procedure described in the study highlighted the importance of early intervention and proper wound management for optimal patient recovery.
