Inside Stent Placement Enhances Preoperative Biliary Drainage in Perihilar Cholangiocarcinoma

Inside stent placement for preoperative biliary drainage in perihilar cholangiocarcinoma patients showed significantly lower rates of recurrent biliary obstruction, longer stent patency, fewer replacements, and reduced hospital stays and costs compared to conventional stent placement. Additionally, inside stent placement resulted in fewer complications and lower re-intervention rates, suggesting potential benefits for both patients and the healthcare system.
