Anti-reflux mucosectomy (ARMS) effectively reduced reflux episodes and acid exposure in GERD patients unresponsive to PPI treatment. ARMS also decreased transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxations (TLESRs) and reflux symptoms without impacting esophageal distensibility. These findings support ARMS as a viable option for managing PPI-refractory GERD, suggesting a potential mechanism through the reduction of TLESRs.
