Comparing outcomes between Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol and conventional care in esophagectomy, ERAS patients had fewer complications, shorter hospital stay, and better quality of life scores up to 3 months post-surgery. ERAS group outperformed in functional and symptom domains, showing advantages in dysphagia, speech difficulties, and eating. Optimal technique for cervical anastomosis is crucial for maintaining these benefits.
