A meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials found that Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) guidelines were associated with decreased hospital length of stay by 1.88 days and reduced risk of complications. However, there was no significant impact on readmission or mortality rates. Future research should focus on improving ERAS implementation and expanding guideline adherence to enhance patient outcomes and surgical recovery.
