Eight Actions for Global Cancer Surgery Research

A global commission proposes resource-stratified steps to build cancer surgical research capacity, especially in low-resource settings.

  • The commission sets out eight actions spanning individual, institutional, and system-wide capacity.
  • It used the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research to develop recommendations intended to support implementation.

For surgeons in low-resource settings, this is a roadmap for building research infrastructure, not evidence that the proposed actions have improved patient outcomes.
