A study analyzing surgical outcomes for robotic pancreatoduodenectomy (RPD) found that a surgeon with extensive laparoscopic pancreatoduodenectomy (LPD) experience can successfully navigate the RPD learning curve. Performance metrics indicated that operation times significantly decreased in the proficiency phase, starting from case 34, without increasing complications or estimated blood loss during the learning phase. The findings suggest that prior LPD experience effectively supports safe and efficient RPD performance after completing 33 procedures.
