Textbook outcome correlates with improved long-term survival in gastric cancer patients

Achieving textbook outcomes significantly enhances long-term survival among gastric cancer patients, with a notable 5-year conditional overall survival of 64.7% compared to 40.2% for those who did not meet these criteria (p < .001). Additionally, there is a compelling difference in 5-year conditional disease-free survival, recorded at 63.1% versus 37.6%, respectively (p < .001). This study underscores the independent association between textbook outcomes and better oncologic prognosis post-gastrectomy.
