Analysis of 196 patients with oesophagogastric adenocarcinoma revealed a 13.8% early recurrence rate post-surgery, with a one-year recurrence-free survival of 83.7% and overall survival of 90.8%. The study identified extracapsular spread and ypN3 stage as independent risk factors for early recurrence, highlighting their significance in prognostication. Understanding these predictors may guide tailored follow-up strategies, including regular imaging and treatment adjustments to improve patient outcomes after curative surgery.
