Nomogram predicts long-term survival in esophageal cancer patients

A prognostic nomogram was developed to estimate long-term survival for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients post-surgery. Using data from 224 patients, key variables influencing outcomes included tumor location, anastomotic fistula incidence, and vascular invasion, with lymph node clearance linked to improved survival. The nomogram displayed strong predictive capabilities through various assessment methods, confirming its practical utility in guiding personalized patient care. The overall survival prediction can significantly aid clinical decision-making following esophageal cancer surgery.
