A meta-analysis of 11 studies revealed that lower tumor regression grades (TRG) significantly correlate with improved disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) in patients with locally advanced gastric cancer undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Specifically, patients with lower TRGs had a DFS hazard ratio of 0.53 and an OS hazard ratio of 0.59, indicating substantial survival benefits. Sensitivity analyses confirmed the robustness of these findings, despite noting publication bias in the OS data.
