CPZ demonstrates high sensitivity for diagnosing hepatocellular carcinoma

Carboxypeptidase Z (CPZ) emerges as a promising diagnostic biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), showing a remarkable 90.8% positive expression rate in a study of tumor tissues. In combination with other markers, CPZ achieved sensitivities up to 79.2% and specificities near 100%. Notably, it outperformed other markers in poorly differentiated HCC, suggesting its potential role in routine pathology. High accuracy was highlighted with an AUC of 0.908 for CPZ alone, underscoring its diagnostic value.
