- Prognostic factors for increased risk of leakage included preoperative weight loss, unreinforced duodenal stump, Billroth II reconstruction, and postoperative blood transfusion.
Surgeons should consider these factors in patient selection and surgical technique to mitigate risks associated with this complication.
