Laparoscopic liver resection proves most cost-effective with lower total costs and superior postoperative outcomes compared to open and robotic liver resection. Open liver resection incurs the lowest procedural costs, but highest hospitalization costs. Robotic liver resection has the highest total and procedural costs but reduces hospitalization costs with advantages in mortality and length of stay. Laparoscopic liver resection demonstrates optimal cost-morbidity efficiency and shorter length of stay, making it a favorable option for hepatectomy.
