Sex Differences in Weight Loss and Complications Post Bariatric Surgery

Male patients had slightly greater weight loss and higher complication rates compared to females following bariatric surgery. However, these differences were not clinically significant. Providers should consider referring males earlier for surgery given their higher comorbidity rates. This study highlights the need to assess sex differences in outcomes to personalize bariatric care effectively.
