Prospective perioperative registry implemented in Ethiopia showed a 51.4% capture rate for 440 patients, with 5.4% missing data and 90.2% accuracy. Post-pilot modifications increased capture rate to 70.5%. This low-cost electronic registry signifies progress in improving surgical care in under-resourced areas. Strong partnerships and local context are crucial for successful implementation, with ongoing efforts to enhance the registry for improved surgical quality and research output.
