Comprehensive regional program, including the mirec pathway, significantly reduced hospital stays after laparoscopic gastrectomy without increasing adverse events. Gastric cancer surgery outcomes improved with decreased hospital stays and lower complication rates. The program revolutionizes care delivery, enhancing quality and value for patients through regionalization, laparoscopic approach, oncologic care, subspecialization, and mirec pathway integration. Chemotherapy utilization also increased, indicating potential for broader impact on patient outcomes.
