Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) demonstrated safety and efficacy in treating superficial esophageal cancer within the remnant esophagus post-esophagectomy. In a study involving 47 patients, the procedure achieved an 86.4% complete resection rate and a 5-year disease-specific survival rate of 95.7%. Complications were minimal, with only one instance of postoperative bleeding. No local recurrence occurred during a median follow-up of 43 months, confirming ESD as a reliable intervention for patients facing this condition.
