Developing Prioritized Lists for General Surgery Trainee Assessment

This study establishes prioritized lists of operative procedures for simulation-based assessments in general surgery training, essential for competency-based programs. Through a Delphi consensus study, 21 and 16 procedures were identified as suitable for assessments at key training stages, aiding in trainee progression and end-of-training certification. This approach provides a structured method for content generation, enhancing the development of operative skill assessments for high-stakes scenarios.
